WhatsApp us for a custom planSeven days is the minimum for a first trip that covers Canggu, Ubud and Uluwatu without feeling rushed. Five days works if you are flexible and accept skipping one area. Anything under four days is a highlights-only dash. See our 5-day and 7-day itineraries for the most practical first-trip options.
Move around. Canggu, Ubud and Uluwatu feel like different islands — the landscape, food, pace and activities are completely distinct. Moving twice over 7 days costs about $80–120 in private drivers and gains experiences you simply cannot get from one base. The only exception is very short trips (3 days) where moving wastes proportionally more time.
14 days if you want east Bali (Sidemen, Amed) and the Gili Islands — the parts of the island that most 7-day visitors miss and often regret. 7 days if you only have one week and want to cover the essential south-Bali triangle well. Our 10-day itinerary is a strong middle option.
Extremely. Bali has private pool villas at reasonable prices, a culture that is genuinely warm toward children, activities that engage children of all ages (elephants, birds, cooking classes, snorkelling) and a food scene varied enough for even picky eaters. See our family-week itinerary for a practical 7-day plan based in Sanur and Ubud.
May through October (dry season) is best for most travellers — predictable sun, low humidity, excellent surf on the west coast. July and August are peak season with higher prices and bigger crowds. April and September are the sweet spot: dry weather, fewer crowds, lower accommodation prices. November through March (wet season) is viable and cheaper, with short afternoon rain bursts rather than all-day rain.
